Kevin thinks he is being chatted up by Chad Berry, a minor celebrity he meets at his local gym. When Chad invites him out for the evening, Kevin is certain he is gay until he reveals he has a girlfriend.

Kitty pretends to have a boyfriend so that her colleagues will stop spreading rumours that she and McAllister are an item. Out of desperation and in a moment of madness, she joins a dating agency. Nora reluctantly follows suit.

On meeting her date, she is embarrassed to have been set up with McAllister. He admits he took part in hijacking her date, but only did so to save her from the awkwardness of being stuck with a stranger. After vowing to keep their evening a secret, their plan is ruined when they are photographed together by paparazzi leaving the restaurant.

Nora's evening is almost as disastrous as Kitty's, as her date confesses to being gay.

Meanwhile, Sarah becomes jealous of Joe's newfound companionship with their son's friend's mother, Vanessa. Joe expresses the loneliness that he sometimes suffers stuck at home with the children.

Tommy is losing sleep because of Julia's newfound insatiable sexual appetite, a by-product to the early days of her pregnancy.

On a supposedly platonic evening out, Kevin decides to confront Chad about his sexuality. They end up sharing a passionate kiss.

The following day, Kevin goes to greet Chad at the gym but is ignored when his girlfriend arrives.
