Senator McAllister is preparing for his presidential campaign and Kitty is assigned to interview his ex-high school sweetheart. She soon becomes jealous of how happy their relationship seemed to have been until his ex admits how he helped her when she fell pregnant with someone else's child.

Chad tells Kevin that he is ready to come out and admit he is gay despite the repercussions it may have on his career. Chad explains to Kevin that he wants to continue his life alone and Kevin has no other choice but to let him go.

Meanwhile, Nora's lecturer invites her to a party which she happily accepts. However, when she finds out that he has just dumped a girl from their writing class, she immediately confronts him about his irresponsible behaviour. He is undeterred by her reaction and asks her out for another date.

Justin agrees to attend a party with Rebecca and manages to refrain from all of the drugs that are being openly offered. Rebecca, however, does not and Justin is keen to take her home to sober her up. Rebecca is reluctant to accept his help and Justin soon becomes involved in a fist fight.

Just before McAllister is about to go on stage to deliver his speech, Kitty confesses that she is falling in love with him. McAllister admits that he feels the same way.
